ISLAMABAD: United States Chargé d’Affaires (CdA) to Pakistan Paul Jones on Monday called on federal Minister for Water and Resources Faisal Vawda in the federal capital.
Maters of mutual interest, bilateral relations, water resources and other issues were discussed in the meeting, said sources.
Faisal Vawda thanked the US ambassador for their cooperation and said that it was the high time for investment in Pakistan. He told the US envoy that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government adopted zero tolerance policy against corruption in the country.
Faisal Vawda briefed the US ambassador about the vision of PTI government and said that their government’s positive polices started bearing fruits.
The minister said that Pakistan was among the countries which could face water scarcity and underscored the need for construction of news dams on emergency basis to tackle the water crises. He said that construction of new dams was the top priority of PTI-led government.
The US ambassador assured every possible assistance to Pakistan.
Earlier, US Chargé d’affaires to Pakistan Ambassador Paul Jones, on October 22, had called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
Matters of mutual interest, including regional security with particular reference to Afghanistan, were discussed.
