On US intelligence Pak Army rescued US-Canadian family: Zakaria

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokeman, Nafees Zakaria has said that Pakistan Army conducted operation and recovered US-Canadian family after intelligence from US regarding the movement on Pak-Afghan border.

Zakaria said this while issuing a statement in this regard on Friday. He said that Pakistan Army conducted rescue operation on the basis of US intelligence and recovered the Canadian, his American wife and three children from the captivity of Taliban.

Zakria added that the couple had been kidnapped in Afghanistan in 2012.

US intelligence services informed the Pakistani partners after tracking the movement of the hostages across Pak-Afghan border area of Kurram Agency on 11 October, 2017.

He added that US appreciated the Pakistan Army efforts and recovering the abductees.
