US State Dept contradicts story by US funded radio

Jalil Afridi

Washington DC: The US State Department Deputy Spokesperson, Vedant Patel contradicted the story filed by US fund Radio Free Europe which had earlier claimed that the weapons left behind by the United States in Afghanistan have landed in the hands of Tehrike Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

When asked by The Frontier Post whether the story filed by Radio Free Europe is correct or the statement by White House National Security Spokesperson, John Kirby is correct with regard to the over six billion dollars worth of weapons left by the United States when it was withdrawing from Afghanistan. John Kirby had stated a few days ago that most of the weapons left behind in Afghanistan were either destroyed or disabled. Mr Patel confirmed that statement by Mr Kirby was accurate whereas the story filed by Radio Free Europe was inaccurate.

A senior analyst in Washington DC when asked to comment about this contradiction replied by saying that the US government is funding radio station which is harming US state policy.

In reply to another question by The Frontier Post with regard to Pakistan purchasing it’s first shipment of oil from Russia, Mr Patel stated that Pakistan is a sovereign country and can make its decision.

When asked by The Frontier Post that why the US does not adopt a peace strategy with regard to the Russia Ukraine war, Mr Patel stated that it is Russia who has attacked a sovereign country and the US will continue to support Ukraine with regard to its defence, humanitarian and energy needs.
