Vaccination mandatory for travelling on BRT buses

PESHAWAR: Bus Rapid Transit System Peshawar known for its exemplary services has restricted travel with a COVID-19 Vaccination certificate. The decision was the compliance of the directions from the government in order to ensure maximum people get their vaccination done.

TransPeshawar since day 1 of its operations successfully implemented SOPs regarding COVID 19 and later enforced the use of face masks for all commuters and staff. Spokesperson Peshawar BRT stated that BRT staff is completely vaccinated and the department is taking all possible measures to ensure smooth implementation of COVID SOPs and standing instructions from the government.

The decision was taken after sensitizing people for more than a month to get their vaccination done. He stated that passengers with a single dose of vaccine can also travel in BRT whereas people with no dose of vaccination will be regrated.

He also shared that in today’s operation the maximum number of commuters produced their COVID Vaccination certificate whereas a marginal number of people were refused to travel. He added that TransPeshawar and district administration has formed special teams to ensure and check random stations/buses for vaccination certificate.

Violators will be fined and will be removed from the system.
He urged citizens to get their vaccination done as soon as possible for their and commuters’ safety.
