Verification of votes stressed

SWABI: Ajmal Hafeez, District election Commissioner here on Wednesday appealed to the people to remain alert and visit the 117 display centers in different parts of the district to check their vote and if there were any mistake that should be corrected before the upcoming general election.

Hafeez who addressed a press conference said that if the voters of any area of the district wanted to change their votes to the venue from already registered this was the time to come forward. “We facilitate the voters, and ensuring their participation in the general election 2018,” he said. “The full fledged campaign we launched would be continued till April 24. The voters could go to the centre in their respective area to register their complaint for correction.”

The correction of the wrong name, wrong polling station and wrong block code if was made any could be corrected in time, he said, adding that they seek the people cooperation and the Election Commission of Pakistan staff were ready to deliver and pave the way for smooth participation and exercising their right of vote.

If a vote of a male and female was not register he/she should check and the commission staff would ensure the registration, he said. In reply to a question, he said that the people could visit any time and meets with the staff concerned who would make the correction.
