BHAKKAR: Federal Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, on Wednesday said the current government was running trains shut down during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif, former prime minister of the country.
Talking to media at Bhakkar Railway Station, Rashid said: “We will drag Shehbaz Sharif and his associates on the streets [for their corruption].”
He claimed that Sharifs didn’t leave any stone unturned in looting national wealth. He was of the view that corrupt people didn’t let the country progress.
Rasheed said he fulfilled the promise made to people of South Punjab under directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He vowed that train commuting facilities will be available to people of all cities including Layyah, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, and Muzaffargarh.
Earlier in the day, Sheikh Rasheed said senior citizens above age of 70 years were being provided with the free facility to travel.
Addressing the opening ceremony of Thal Express in the federal capital, the minister announced to add 20 more new trains in the fleet of Pakistan Railways in next three months and added that 365 acres of land has been acquired for Gwadar Railway Station.
Pakistan Railway had suspended the Thal train service in 2008 due to financial losses and the shortage of locomotives.
