ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Interior Shahryar Afridi said on Saturday that he would end the drug menace from the country even if it costs him his life.
Speaking in an event at the capital city, Afridi said that that drug mafia is playing with the future of generations, adding that the so-called respectable of the society are behind the drug trade.
“I have told forces that there will be no compromise over the drug trade,” he said, “we have to be bold against the mafia. We will make them a lesson for others to learn.”
Afridi said that the evil of child pornography and narcotics are interlinked.
“The abused children are not in control for as many as 72 hours after drug intake,” he said.
The state minister said that he is not concerned of the criticism against the government or his ministry over his strict stance on drugs.
“Let me tell you all quite clear we will go till the end on this issue,” he added.
