KABUL: The Wolesi Jirga approved a presidential legislative decree regarding a draft law on development of livestock and investment in the sector.
Haji Mohammad Hashim Faryabi, deputy head of the National Economic and Commission, told the lower house that the 149th presidential legislative decree regarding the draft law of livestock management and development maintained five chapters and 30 articles.
He added the purpose of the draft law was to improve the livestock sector by introducing new and quality generation of livestock, promoting quantity and quality of dairy products, facilitating investment in livestock sector and strengthening the country’s economy.
Faryabi said the draft law was discussed in a joint meeting of the panel heads and there had been no differences. He added the livestock sector of the country would be improved if the law was implemented.
Of 120 lawmakers present, only seven rejected the law and 113 voted in its favour. Nazir Ahmadzai chaired the meeting.
