Women have potential to change fate of country: Suri

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri Tuesday said women were matchless asset of the nation and were capable to change the fate of the country.

He expressed these views while addressing the delegation of Young Women Leadership Conference at Parliament House.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri  said setting right direction for young women will pave the way for channelizing their potential into positive socioeconomic activities.

He also mentioned that women had showed courage and bravery in all socioeconomic spheres in Pakistan.

The deputy speaker said half of the population in Pakistan was women and it was the responsibility of the state to include this crucial portion of the population into national mainstream.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri  said the present government was determined to create harassment free environment for women in all socioeconomic spheres.

He also appreciated that young women had surpassed in all social spheres especially in the field of the education at every level.

“We are proud of our girls who are excelling in all educational institutions,” he added. National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri  advised the young girls to work hard and to set goals for themselves.

While appreciating the contribution made by the women parliamentarians, he said that there were 68 women parliamentarians in the National Assembly and they were striving hard for protecting the basic women rights at legislation and implementation level.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri  also said women participation in the field of politics was undeniable and young women leadership conference provided a right platform for women to have exposure regarding the political activities in Pakistan.

“You are fortunate to be included in the young women leadership conference because your future in the politics will change the fate of the country,” he added.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri  appreciated the efforts of the Human Resource Development Network for providing opportunity to 157 girls of all districts across Pakistan. National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri  also said women in Balochistan need special attention of such organizations. Amina Sadar, Programme Manager HRDN said bright future of Pakistan depended on participation of young women in public life. The meeting was followed by answer question session.
