Work on power supply project kicked off in Khost

KHOST (TOLOnews): Work on the construction of a 4.5 megawatts imported electricity station in Sabari Wa Yaqubi districts of Khost province was inaugurated on Saturday.
The cost of the project is estimated 159 million Afs, and a large amount will be paid by the Interior Ministery.
“Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat also participates in this project and a large amount will pay by acting Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani,” said Zayenullah Abir, head of the media office of the Interior Ministry.
Local residents welcomed the inauguration of the project and called on the government to work on delivering electricity to other areas of the province.
“We are so happy that after twenty years for the first time this year, a ceremony for such a project is held here,” said a Khost resident. It’s a good step and we are thankful for those who cooperate in this project,” said Hekmat, a Khost resident.
“We have a plan and design for this project, and we are at the area and have started work. We also asked for the cooperation of Da Breshna Sherkat,” said Folad, Maweya, head of the Breshna Sherkat in Khost.
Sabari Wa Yaqubi district in Khost witnessed intense battles during the previous government, impeding development projects in the district.
Work on the project is estimated to be completed in six months.
