KARACHI: The World Maritime Day’ 2022 mega event was organized by the Nautical Institute -Pakistan Branch under the auspices of Port Qasim Authority in collaboration with Maritime Institute of Pakistan, Institute of Chartered Ship brokers-Pakistan Chapter and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, at the Pearl Continental hotel on Wednesday.
The event comprised of three sessions and was themed “New Technologies Greener Shipping” and reflected the need to support a green transition of the Maritime sector into a sustainable future. Amongst the notable speakers at the inaugural session were Rear Admiral Syed Hasan Nasir Shah, Chairman Port Qasim Authority, Capt. S.M Ajmal Mehmoodi Chairman Nautical Institute, Pakistan, Capt. Andre, President The Nautical Institute, UK and Irum Tanweer, Director General Press Information Department.
The event was attended by renowned maritime professionals, students, Naval and Government officials. The celebrations held unique significance as it was in congruence with the. Diamond Jubilee of Pakistan and the 50th anniversary of Nautical Institute.
