Writ filed at PHC seeking removal landmines

PESHAWAR: A writ petition has been filed at Peshawar High Court seeking compensation for victims of landmines in Waziristan and other districts.
The writ is filed by Sajjad Ahmed Mehsud Advocate stating that clear Waziristan and other districts from landmines which was planted in war against terrorism.

The petition further states that children, women and security personnel becoming victims of landmines in Waziristan and other district who faced insurgency during war against terrorism.

The writ petition further seeking that to declare the areas as red zone where landmines had planted and removal of mines to secure local population.
The writ further added that identified areas where landmines exist and arrange seminars in this regard for public awareness to minimize casualties.

The writ petition further stated that after 28 May 2021 that 15 children and three security personnel were dead in the landmines incidents.

In the writ petition federal and provincial government along with ministry of interior, secretary defense, chief secretary, human rights commission, secretary relief, secretary home Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Inspector General FC had been made as respondents.
