MOSCOW (RIA Novosti): At the end of 2021, Xiaomi introduced a new generation of its flagship smartphones – Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. The devices received the recently revealed Qualcomm platform .

The base model Xiaomi 12 turned out to be noticeably smaller than its predecessor – it is a smartphone with a 6.28-inch AMOLED display. The Chinese company emphasizes that the device is convenient to use with one hand, comparing it with the iPhone 13. But the Xiaomi 12 Pro is much larger with a 6.73-inch screen. The latter has a higher resolution (3200 x 1440 versus 2400 x 1080 pixels), the refresh rate is 120 Hz, but the older model claims LTPO 2.0 technology.

The latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is responsible for the performance of both models. Xiaomi promises that the processor will not overheat, because smartphones use a large area evaporation chamber. The devices are equipped with a scattering of modern interfaces, and also received an audio system from several speakers.

The Xiaomi 12 camera unit consists of three sensors – the main 50-megapixel IMX766 sensor with an optical format of 1 / 1.56 inches, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 5-megapixel macro. The main sensor supports OIS and AF tracking technology. The 12 Pro has a more interesting camera unit: all three sensors with a resolution of 50 megapixels, one of them with optical zoom.

The battery capacity is slightly different – 4500 versus 4600 mAh. Both smartphones can charge wirelessly according to the Qi standard, but the wired power is different. While the Xiaomi 12 is content with a 67-watt power supply, the Pro gets a 120-watt charger.

Xiaomi promises to start selling flagships in January 2022. The first market where smartphones will be available will be China . There, the basic version of Xiaomi 12 8/128 GB will cost 3,700 yuan (43,000 rubles at the current exchange rate), and for the most affordable Xiaomi 12 Pro they will ask for 4,700 yuan (54,000 rubles).
