LAHORE: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) has continued its strike across government hospitals in Punjab for a fourth consecutive day, on Monday.
According to reports, the YDA protest which was launched against Medical Teaching Institutions (MTI) Reform, has caused massive problems for patients.
The out-patient departments (OPDs) of all government-run hospitals in Punjab are closed by paramedical staff and nurses in all major cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha, and Faisalabad, to protest the proposed privatisation of the government-run hospitals.
The YDA has said it won’t allow the government to privatize government hospitals and vowed to continue strike until their demands are not met.
Nurses protest in Peshawar
On the other hand, Young Nurses Association continued with its protests in Peshawar for the fulfillment of its demands.
The demands of nurses include pay raise, proper service structure and regularization of their services.
