KABUL (Amu tv) : A 24-year-old man was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen in western Kabul earlier this week, according to local sources who described it a latest in a series of unexplained killings that have heightened public concern over security in the country’s capital.
The victim, identified as Ahmad Sameem, was killed in the city’s Police District 8 two nights ago, sources said.
Local residents told Amu that Sameem had recently graduated from a law faculty and had no known political affiliations or personal disputes.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killing, and Taliban security authorities have not issued a statement regarding the incident.
Residents in the area have expressed growing frustration over what they describe as a surge in armed robberies and targeted killings in recent months. Despite Taliban claims of restoring order nationwide, many say that security conditions in Kabul remain fragile.
“We keep hearing about Taliban control, but people are being killed in the streets, and no one is held accountable,” one local resident said, speaking on condition of anonymity for safety reasons.
