Young man killing sparks protest

KARAK: Killing of young man sparks protest in district Karak and Hundreds of protestors, women were also in the protest, blocked the Indus Highway here on Tuesday against the tragic death of a young man Abad Khan. The protestors demanded the arrest of the alleged killers identified in the FIR as district councilor of Jandri union council Jan Alam and his brother Firdos Alam. The protestors put the dead body of the young man on the Indus Highway early in the morning at Naizi Well stop and blocked it there for all kinds of traffic for five hours.

The relatives of Abad Khan and hundreds residents of union council Jandri complained that the alleged killers were influential and police was trying to save them by delaying the registration of FIR against the nominated persons.

They alleged that the deceased were returning to home situated in Ayakhel area of Tehsil Karak from his shop last night when he was shot dead by the said district councilor and his brother and they further added that the alleged killers were influential, therefore, police was not taking action against them.

They alleged that dozens of FIRs had been registered against Jan Alam in different heinous crimes but the police were not taking action against him.

They further alleged that police attitude was biased and appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar to take sue muto action against the nominated persons. Long queues on both sides of the Indus Highway were witnessed and the passengers faced severe hardship due to closure of the main artery from Karachi to Khyber for several hours.
