Youth engagement, recreational activity held to promote culture

ZHOB: “Sports develop the spirit of healthy competitions among the youth and give them a lesson of tolerance.

Involving and encouraging the young generation in sports will ensure a secure future, peace and development,” said District Sports Officer Amir Muhammad Kakar, while addressing a youth engagement and recreational activity held in Grada Babar – a hilly union council of the district.

The event was organized by Balochistan Rural Support Program under Field Unit-2 BRACE Program. A large number of young spectators including Local Support Organization, Village Organization and community members from different villages of the union council showed up the event.

The banners were displayed highlighting the importance of sports and holding recreational events for youth as well. The final match of the tournament played between Maaroof cricket club vs Mashoom cricket club. But Mashoom cricket team clinched the tournament trophy after thumping Maaroof cricket team by 41 runs.

Chief guest of the event District Sports Officer Amir Muhammad Kakar appreciated the efforts of BRSP & active participation of community in sports activities and urged the need to promote sporting culture. Field Unit-2 In-charge Naqeebullah Babar on the occasion said that the importance of sports cannot be ignored as it creates tolerance in the society and brings people closer to each other.

“Sportsmen are the ambassadors of peace, it is need of the hour to motivate and encourage the young generation towards the playgrounds because through sports a healthy society can be formed.” he said.

Meanwhile, the chief guest and field in-charge distributed trophies and prizes among the winner and runner teams and sports committee for organizing the event.
