TIMERGARA: Dozens of youth in Samarbagh on Sunday held a protest demonstration against what they called the rising of drugs’ selling in the area. The protesters also blocked the Kambat Munda road for some time and also walked on the road. Speaking on the occasion the youth leaders Salim Khan Momand, Haji Hayatullah, Muhammad Iqbal and others complained that drug selling and addiction were on the rise in Samarbagh. They alleged that each kind of contrabands was available at several places but local police were doing nothing to curb the menace.
They said that drug addiction was fast spreading due to police and administration’s failure to keep check on it. The protesters gave a week as a deadline and said that after a week announcements would be made from all mosques in Samarbagh and surrounding areas for bringing people on the roads.
The protesters also announced to start social boycott with the families involved in drugs’ selling in the area. They demanded of the Lower Dir administration to take notice of the matter and resolve public complaints about the problem within a week.
