KARACHI: The five-day annual ZAB Media Festival at Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) concluded. The festival celebrated the treasure trove of media in Pakistan via films, documentary, design and photography based on the theme of ‘Discovering Pakistan.’
The event started on 2nd April’19 with opening remarks from President (SZABIST) Madam Shahnaz Wazir Ali and Vice President (SZABIST) Dr. Altaf Mukati followed by Madam Sultana Siddiqui as the key note speaker. The five-day event explored various facets of the media in Pakistan via panel discussions and screening of films. Major names of the media industry such as Osman Khalid Butt, Fifi Haroon, Hareem Farooq, Mansha Pasha, Imran Raza Kazmi, Samra Muslim, Tehmina Khaled, Ali Rehman Khan, Shahjehan Saleem, Manal Faheem Khan, Fatima Niazi, Zoya Anwer Naqvi, Zoha Tunio, Bee Gul, Nabeel Qureshi, Kamal Khan, Fizza Ali Meerza, Sadia Jabbar, Habib Paracha, Babar Sheikh, Tina Sani, Dolly Singh, Gul Zaib Shakeel, George Fulton, Ali Gul Pir, Akbar Chaudry, Faraz Maqsood Hamidi, Rahat Rafiq, Tazeen Hussain, Humaira Saleem, Marium Lodhi and Jawad Sharif were part of this Festival.
The festival was organized by journalist/ lecturer Shahjehan Saleem along with Program Manager, Mehwish Zara Zaidi, and Head of Media Sciences Department, Taimur Ahmad Suri.
