NANGARHAR: At least fifteen Islamic State IS militants were killed in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan in a series of airstrikes conducted by US forces.
The Nangarhar government said that to local media that US forces targeted IS hideout in a series of airstrikes which was carried out in the restless Achin district.
Government official added one civilian was also killed in the airstrikes.
Meanwhile, the Afghan security forces are busying in conducting counter-terrorism operations against the IS and other insurgent groups in this province to ensure the peace and writ of the government in the area as they were challenging the government writ in the province.
The foreign forces are backing the Afghan forces operation against the IS and other militants groups and assisting them by carried out airstrikes and targeting the Taliban hideouts.
