15 Taliban killed in gunfight

HERAT: Two security men and 15 Taliban gunmen were reported killed during a clash in the Chasht Sharif district on Tuesday.

The clash between security forces and Taliban took place in the Sarbeshta area of Chasht Sharif district, said Jilani Farhad, spokesman of Herat governor. He said that 15 Taliban and two security men were killed and eight Taliban and four security men wounded in the gunbattle. In Bedan area of Shahrak district, a clash between two tribes left two persons dead and as many wounded, said spokesman of Ghor police.

In another incident, he said, lightning injured one person in the Tewara district of the same district.
