KABUL (Khaama Press): 208 Afghan detainees were released from a prison in neighbor country, the official said. 208 Afghan detainees were freed from the prison of neighbor country and returned to Kabul, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry said the Afghan Embassy and the Afghan Consulate General worked together to secure the release of these detainees. The statement added that all the prisoners transferred to Kabul with the interim government’s financial support.
According to the Afghan consul, more than 2,000 Afghan detainees, including women and children, were released from prisons over the past six months.
Most Afghan refugees complain about the mistreatment with Afghan refugees and patients who stay/go for treatment. Earlier, the HRC and the UN Refugee Agency urged the government to treat Afghan citizens decently.
Last month, more than 150 prisoners, including women and children, were released from prison and returned home. Still, hundreds of Afghans remain in prisons, including women and children.
