22 IS militants killed in US airstrike

JALALABAD: At least 22 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed in airstrike conducted by US forces in Nangarhar province on Thursday.

The US forces targeted IS hideouts in eastern Nangarhar province and the latest airstrike was carried out by the US forces using unmanned aerial vehicle.

Provincial government official told the airstrike was conducted in the Khogyani area of Nangarhar province in which 22 IS militants were killed and several others were injured.

Provincial police commandment told media persons that some weapons and ammunition and explosives belonging were also destroyed in the air strike.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
