27 fighters of Haqqani network killed in Khost operation

KHOST: At least 27 gunmen of Haqqani network were killed during ground and aerial operation of the Afghan forces in Nadir Shah Kot district in Khost province on Sunday night.

District police chief, Masaud Rehan told that the Afghan and foreign forces started operation against the armed opponents in Zanikhel area in Nadir Shah Kot and killed 27 fighters of Haqqani network including two local commanders identified as Qari Roman and Hafiz Nasir. The foreign forces also conducted airstrike against the gunwomen.

However, the local residents claimed that the operation was carried out against the religious seminary of Qari Mir Abbas and some of the students were killed in it but they did not have any information about their identity and facilitation.
