KABUL: At least three Taliban militants were killed in an explosion triggered by improvised explosive devices in north-eastern Takhar province of Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said the three Taliban militants were busy hatching plans for a terrorist attack when the incident took place.
According to a statement released by MoI, the militants had taken shelter inside a mosque and were preparing improvised explosive devices for their future attacks when the explosion took place, leaving all three militants dead.
The statement further added that the incident took place in on Thursday in Ai Khanom village of Dasht-e-Qala district.
The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the incident. (Khaama Press)
