35 children fell sick after consuming toxic Shawarma

BAHAWALNAGAR: The condition of 35 children deteriorated after eating toxic food last night in Haroonabad, district Bahawalnagar, on Friday.

Reportedly, dozens of children fell sick after eating poisonous Shawarma. As their condition deteriorated, the children were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

According to the THQ emergency medical officer, the children were suffering from food poisoning when brought to the medical facility. Now their condition is out of danger, he added.

He said that as many as 35 children were admitted to the hospital’s emergency ward.

The children belonging to different families bought Shawarmas from the same shop and soon after consuming the doner kebabs, their condition worsened and they fell sick.
