KABUL (TOLOnews): The Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET) announced the graduation of 36,000 students from institutes related to this authority during the year 1402 (solar year).
Ghulam Haidar Shahamat, acting head of TVET, in the program “Information Presentation about the Employment of Outstanding Graduates of the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority” said that by the end of the current solar year, 1,000 new teachers will also be hired by the authority of Technical and Vocational Education.
Shahamat said: “After the survey we conducted, 1,000 of our students who graduated from the first to the fifth rank classes will be employed as contractual teachers this year.”
The acting head of TVET authority added that previously, the process of hiring teachers was based on their relationships, not their expertise; however, according to a new plan, from now on, the hiring process will be based on merit and fair competition.
Shahamat added: “In some places, they were appointed due to tribal relations; but with the plan we have, work is given to its rightful owners, which encourages students and creates healthy competition.”
According to Shahamat, approximately 2,590 graduates of the TVET authority are expected to be employed by professionals in the provinces of Kandahar, Herat, Jalalabad, and Kabul.
