3rd RMI MCL: PPC Bahadurs crush PPC Lions to enter semifinal

PESHAWAR: Tournament favourites PPC Bahadurs outclass PPC Lions by 9 wickets to enter the semi-final of  3rd edition of RMI Media Cricket League.

In the last quarterfinal of the tournament, PPC Bahadurs captain Yasir won the toss and elected to field first. Lions gave a good start scoring 29 runs of the first two overs losing just one wicket.

In the fifth over Irshad took two wickets on successive deliveries to start the downfall of Lions batting lineup.

Lions kept on losing wickets on regular intervals and could managed to score only 63 runs in alloted 10 overs which was also the lowest score in a quarter final of all the three editions of MCL.

Wajid Shahzad score 17 runs while Kamran Gul and Tahir Hussain score 12 and 11 respectively. Irshad took 3 wickets while Gul Rehman and Rizwan took two wickets each.

Chasing the small target Bahadurs finsihed the match in the fifth over for the loss of one wicket. Yasir who is also the highest run-getter of the tournament score 44 runs of just 17 runs hitting six sixes. Although, Yasir was lucky after Lions fielders missed three of his catches.

Umar Farooq (6) and Waseem (5) remained not out. Irshad was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling.

Today in the first semifinal PPC United will face PPC Fighters while PPC Gladiators to meet PPC Bahadurs.
