Taliban suffer heavy casualties in Faryab

KABUL: The Taliban militants suffered heavy casualties during a three-hour clash in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan, the Afghan Military in the North said.

According to a statement released by 209th Shaheen, the clash broke out late on Monday night in the vicinity of Sherin Tagab district.

The statement further added that 8 Taliban militants including two of their local commanders were killed and 13 others were wounded during the clash.

The two Taliban commanders killed during the clash have been identified as Qari Rahmatullah and Mullah Sher mohammad, the 209th Shaheen Corps added in its statement.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the casualties inflicting on their militants. (Khaama Press)
