428 terrorists apprehended during 2017: IGP

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salah ud Din Khan Monday said the year 2017 noted 51 percent reduction in incident of terrorism as compare to 2016 with arrest of 428 terrorists.

Talking to media here at chamber of Speaker Khyber Pakthunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaiser after an event organized in honor of police officers and Jawans, he said during 2017 only two major incidents of terrorism were occurred.

He said that there was a considerable decrease in incidents of terrorism and all crimes during the year 2017, adding that this year as many as 126 case of terrorism and 37,000 cases against drug peddlers were registered while 350 cases of terrorism were decided by the courts.

The Police Chief said that all uniform persons have great responsibility to protect lives and properties of the people and KP police in committed to make the province crime free.

He said that after each incident the police force becomes more organized against terrorists and criminals and take more effective measures, adding that all security forces need support of public to wipe out terrorism and crime from the society.
