PESHAWAR: District administration Kohat Thursday placated 46 families who previously refused administering of polio drops to their children.
On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Kohat, teams of district administration visited various areas of Sheikhaan, Bahadar Kot and Shahpur where they vaccinated children after convincing their family heads regarding benefits of the anti polio drops.
They also conducted awareness campaign in these areas to clear misconception among the population regarding polio vaccine.
They also highlighted benefits of the vaccine and urged people to cooperate with polio teams in vaccinating children. They also urged people to realize their duties in eradication of polio and saving children from permanent disabilities. It is worth mentioning that as many as 20 cases were reported from Bahadar Kot and Sheikhaan while 26 such cases were reported from Shahpur.
