6 die, 5 wounded after vehicle plunges into water

KABUL (Afghanistan Time): Four children and two men are dead and four women and a child wounded after a passenger car carrying them plunged into water in southern Helmand province, an official said Sunday.

MuladadTobagar, the Greshk district administrative chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident happened in the Awbashk locality of the district at around 7:00am Sunday morning.

“Two men and four children had been killed and four women and a child wounded in the incident”.

According to him the victims were on their way back home from a wedding party when the incident took place.

Mohammad Yaseen Khan, the governor’s spokesman, confirmed the incident and expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of lives. He tasked authorities concerned with the shifting of the casualties to hospital.

After insecurity and natural disasters, traffic accidents have been the third deadliest incident that has been on the rise with taking live of Afghans.

Several horrible accidents have taken place due to recklessness of the drivers. Undoubtedly, high death tool in traffic accident has raised cancers, but the question is that why traffic accidents are increasing year after year, and what measure the related organizations should be held to prevent such deadly accidents.
