60,000 acres reclaimed from land-grabbers in Kunduz

Kunduz (Agencies): The Agriculture and Irrigation Department in Kunduz said that since the start of the activity of the commission to prevent land-grabbing, the commission has recaptured 60,000 acres of land in Kunduz. The head of the agriculture dept in the province said that more than 100,000 acres were land-grabbed in the province and efforts are being made to recapture all the lands.
“More than 100,000 acres of grabbed land have been recognized, and efforts are underway to recapture it,” said Amanullah Hassan, head of the Agriculture and Irrigation Department.
Residents of Kunduz welcomed the retaking of the land and hoped the process would speed up.
“The behavior should be taken seriously, if it is urban land, residential land, agricultural land, or surrounding land, it should be protected from grabbing,” said Khir Mohammad Hakimi, a Kunduz resident.
“We call on the Islamic Emirate to hand over these lands to the government if they belong to the government, or return them to people if they belong to the nation,” said Aslamyar Durani, a Kunduz resident.
According to the government, nearly 500,000 acres of grabbed land were recaptured from land grabbers all over the country.
