Affected traders of BRT project assures support to government

PESHAWAR: The affected traders of bus rapid transit project have welcomed the BRT project and reposed full trust on the Asian Development Bank ADB and Provincial government Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing a press conference here at Peshawar press club on Monday wajid Ali a local trader at Gul Centre( Firdous Underpass) and Noor Centre (Hashtangri chowk underpass) along with other traders Afsar Ali, Suhail  Noor, and Muhammad Daud welcomed the BRT project and said that the project would bring a sigh of relief for the masses of provincial metropolitan.

It is pertinent to mention here that the provincial government had decided to demolish the Firdous Underpass and Hashtangri chowk underpass as the two underpasses were not in compliance with the BRT project.

He said that representatives of Asian development bank, provincial development authority and provincial government have assured them to construct alternative market for the affected traders of Gul Centre (Firdous Underpass) and Noor Centre (Hashtangri chowk underpass).

He said that after the accomplishment of market the shops would be given to the market owners by the Asian development bank ADB under the social safe guard policy.
