Afghanistan-Ireland Test Match to kick off today

KABUL: The only test match between the national cricket teams of Afghanistan and Ireland will kick off in Dehradun city on Friday.

This is the first time the cricket teams of Afghanistan and Ireland are facing each other in a Test Match after obtaining full ICC membership in mid-2017.

Tomorrow’s Test Match against Ireland will the second Test Match the Afghan team is participating in over the past one year.

The Afghan national cricket team made Test debut last year by appearing against the national cricket team of India, which they lost.

The only Test Match between the national teams of Afghanistan and Ireland is being played at the conclusion of a bilateral series which kicked off on 5th March.

The Afghan team managed to defeat Ireland in all 3 matches of Twenty20 Internationals but the One Day International series ended up in draw. (Khaama Press)
