Afghanistan-Turkey trade reached $100m in 2023

KABUL (TOLOnews): The Ministry of Industry and Commerce said that in 2023, Afghanistan had $100 million worth of trade with Turkey in which $23 million were exports from Afghanistan.
At the same time, the Deputy PM for Administrative Affairs, Abdul Salam Hanafi, in the meeting with a number of Turkish businessmen, emphasized the development of trade and investment.
He said that right now all the facilities have been provided to increase trade between the two countries.
Abdul Salam Hanafi said that Turkish businessmen can invest in mining, the construction of manufacturing factories, agriculture, energy and technology in Afghanistan.
“The exports and imports of Afghanistan with Turkey have been $100 million in 2023, of which $23 million was exports and $77 million imports,” said Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad, the spokesman of the MoIC.
The Chamber of Commerce and Investment said that the joint chamber will be established with Turkey. “The Chamber of Commerce and Investment of Afghanistan works in a basic way, we want some regional and global projects through the railway from Afghanistan to Turkey, because it will cost less and we will also get in touch with the world through the railway,” said the acting head of ACCI, Mohammad Younus Momand said.
On the other hand, some economic experts emphasized that the Islamic Emirate, to attract further investment, should engage with the international community.
“As much as our strategic economic relations or our economic and political interaction with regional and neighboring countries increases, it paves the way for the solution of our economic problems,” said Abdul Naseer Rishtia, an Economic Expert.
Before this, a delegation led by The deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, on a trip to Turkey, met with the Turkish officials and talked about the development of trade.
