Agitation against NLC in progress in Torkham

LANDI KOTAL: Agitation of Khuga Khel tribe against National Logistic Cell (NLC) was in progress as they staged protest demonstration in Torkham and demanded of the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo motto action against what they called mal-practices of NLC.

Dozens of elders and local tribal from Shinwari,Zakha Khel and Shelmani tribes while holding black flags and fastened black ribbon around their hands took part in protest rally held in Torkham on Tuesday.

Addressing to the angry mob Shah Hussein Shinwari, Mirajuddin, Malik Abdurrazaq Afridi, Malik Tajuddin and others condemned NLC,T orkham center for its mal-practices being executed in Torkham and said as per agreement, Khuga Khel tribe granted hold of 432 kanal land to NLC for terminal but it had adopted expansion policy that was disapproved by the tribesmen.

The tribesmen warned NLC that as agreement of land given for phase one (one year) was expired therefore it should be vacated otherwise; they would have no option but to move to court against it. They blamed NLC for misusing of its authority and said it interfered in business of other departments that had created problems for the locals. They demanded of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to take immediate action against irregularities in NLC and assist them of getting their rights.
