JUI-F part ways from ANP in Mardan

F.P. Report

MARDAN: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazal-coalition partner of Awami National Party in the district government of Mardan has parted ways with the said ruling party and has applied for oppositions benches.

JUI-F parliamentary leader, Moulana Amanat Shah along with other party leaders including Moulana Saleem Haleemi, Malik Ayaz and Malik Ahad here on Tuesday gave application to the district convener Naib-Nazim Asad Ali Kashmiri for allotment of opposition benches in the district council.

After receiving the application, the district convener Asad Ali Kashmiri instructed relevant officials to allot opposition benches to the JUI-f district members.

While talking to media persons, Moulana Amanat Shah alleged that an agreement had been inked between Awami National Party and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F for formation of district government. As per the agreement, he claimed that the five-year tenure of district government had been equally divided between the two political parties. He said that the first two and half years out of five-year tenure would be ruled by district nazim of Awami National Party while the last two and half years would be ruled by district nazim of JUI-f.

He, however, blamed that Awami National Party had violated the agreement and the district nazim Himayatullah Mayar did not hand over the slot of district nazim to the JUI-f on the completion of first two and half years of the five-year tenure. He said that the leadership of JUI-F had decided to part ways with the ruling ANP and apply for allotment of opposition benches in the district council.
