Apex court takes suo motu notice of targeted killing of Hazara community

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Mian Saqib Nisar has taken a suo motu notice of the targeted killings of the people of Hazara community in Balochistan, on Wednesday.

CJP remarked during the hearing that the killers of Hazara are openly holding rallies and gatherings and the members of Hazara community are not allowed to get admission in universities and cannot got to hospitals and schools.

Top judge remarked that “are they not citizens of Pakistan”.

The court summoned report from the Balochistan government and interior ministry

The CJP stated that the notice had to be taken as the Hazara community members feared for their lives and could not even reach out to the Supreme Court.

The court will hear the case on May 11 in Quetta.
