LAHORE: Former Test Captain of Pakistan, Azhar Ali is all set to return to International cricket as he has to prove his fitness before the Pakistan’s tour to New Zealand.
Azhar Ali was injured during the series against Sri Lanka and since then he didn’t play any cricket including ODI series against Islanders and National T20 because of knee injury.
He was sent to the UK for rehab program under doctor Zafar where he worked to regain fitness during his month-long stay and was also underwent a rehabilitation program at National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
After the rehabilitation program, the Azhar Ali now joined his domestic team SNGPL on Saturday to play the super eight stage of Pakistan’s premier first-class tournament Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Azhar Ali has represented Pakistan in 62 Tests and 50 ODIs and one of only four Pakistani batsmen to have scored a triple century in Test Cricket.
