Big B and Ayushmann starrer Gulabo Sitabo to have a digital release

MUMBAI: Due to the rise of the pandemic and the film business being on standstill, for several weeks there have been rumours of many big films to have a direct OTT release. However today, one of the most awaited films of 2020 announced its OTT release and that it will have a direct digital premiere.

Shoojit Sircar, who’s known for his quirky and out of the box dramas like Piku and October, his next film Gulabo Sitabo will now have a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime on June 12. The film which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana in lead roles, has a quirky concept and will now be ready for the netizens. Director Shoojit Sircar shared his thoughts about its digital release and said he’s quite happy about it, “This is the dawn of a new era for Indian entertainment. I am happy that a global audience will be able to watch our gritty dramedy, and enjoy what the film has in store for them. Gulabo Sitabo is a quirky, light-hearted movie that the audience can enjoy with their families.”

Well as Amitabh Bachchan rightly said this is a new change for us and for the entertainment industry. However we believe a medium doesn’t really matter when entertainment and content is great and exceptional. We surely can’t wait for June 12 to come and witness the two great actors entertain us with their quirks.
