KARACHI: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Friday emphasised the need for dialogue among political forces to address the country’s challenges, highlighting the deteriorating situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking at the Pink Football event at Lyari Football Ground, he urged political parties to foster unity and prioritise economic and political stability. Criticising the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for focusing on “extremist politics” instead of public welfare, Bilawal lamented their absence from the All Parties Conference (APC). He stressed that provincial funds should be directed towards providing relief to the people and ensuring peace in the region.
Bilawal commended Lyari’s resilience, praising the establishment of an international-standard football ground and the participation of young and female players from across Sindh. He called for greater empowerment of women, asserting that they have proven their leadership potential in Pakistan’s history and will continue to excel in various fields, including sports.
Warning against forces attempting to lead the youth toward extremism, Bilawal emphasised the importance of youth development for the nation’s future. Concluding his address, he urged the Sindh government to address local infrastructure issues in Lyari, ensuring its continued development as a hub of opportunity.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has appreciated the efforts of the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi for bringing all political parties on a single platform to sort out solution to problems faced by the people of the province.
In a statement issued, the PPP chairman has said that he welcomes the initiative of the KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to engage all political parties in an effort to create political consensus and address the difficulties faced by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has said that dialogue between political parties is the most effective means to not only address political, economic and security challenges. But, also forge the political consensus and stability required to achieve the results.
He said that it is unfortunate that the government with executive authority and primary responsibility to address these issues has not even spent a single day since they formed government doing what they are meant to sever the people of their province. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa instead of serving their people has been busy in practicing their extremist politics at the expenses of the people of the province.
He while criticizing the KP chief minister for not attending the All Parties Conference (APC), Bilawal Bhutto said that despite having been invited they refused to attend or contribute to the APC as well. He said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deserve that their problems to be addressed and added that with or without the help of the KP government, they will continue to fight for the real rights of the people of all provinces.
Meawhile, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi said that lawyers always playing vital role in strengthening democracy and assured to play role in addressing their problems.
He said this during a meeting with a delegation led by Fida Bahadur Vice President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Lajbar Khalil Advocate and other prominent lawyers during their visit to the Governor House. The Governor said that their concerns would be addressed and efforts would be made to resolve their ongoing issues.
