BISEA introduces e-monitoring system in SSC examination

ABBOTTABAD: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Abbottabad (BISEA) has controlled malpractices in the SSC examination and introduced the online monitoring system for examination centres. This decision was mainly taken to control the aspirants from cheating and also from utilizing the unfair means while they sit for their exams.

Dr. Shaista Irshad, who is the acting chairman of the Abbottabad BISE, said that they have ensured CCTV cameras placed in examination halls and students were strictly prohibited to not carry mobile phones or any other electronic device. She said furtherthat the effective measures have been taken for preventing students from using unfair means during the exams and beside the E-monitoring the board had also deployed experienced and honest staff for conducting examinations.

She claimed that conducting examinations under conditions of strict vigilance and monitoring was the board’s foremost priority. The new monitoring system was put into place for the continuing exams for grades 9th and 10th class, which started on March 14th, 2019. Total 1,22,205 candidates including both male as well as female aspirants sat for the exams. These annual exams of grade 9th and 10th will continue till April 4th, 2019. Monitoring in the exams is being done through the camera system associated along with centralized control room at heroffice. The video recording has been made necessary to check the remaining centres throughout the exams.

She added that cheating trend in examinations was spreaded like an epidemic in previous times that’s why it was dire need of time to discourage, otherwise it would ruin the career of upcoming generations. The acting chairperson of board further said that implementation of the new system has much lessen the chances of students cheating. “We will ensure the online monitoring in all the examination centres for the upcoming inter level annual exams in the division”, she added.

While talking to The Frontier Post, Raja Shakeel Ahmed an acting Principal of GHSS Boi and member of BISEA inspection team said that it is crystal clear that cheating in exams destroys the future of the students as it is the sign of a gloomy future. Students cheat to obtain good grade without considering that they are destroying their future. By the aid of cheating they can gain good grades but they can’t gain knowledge. Students who cheat will grow into dishonest and corrupt citizens.

He informed that to curbthe menace of cheating, the staff of BISEA has been monitoring these examination halls by utilizing display screens. He told that BISEA acting chairman personally along with her dedicated monitoring team that sits in the office of chair were keeping a vigilant eye on the aspirants together with the invigilation staff for any negligence. He moreover said that if any practice against the rules of exams was found, paper of the candidate get cancel as a result. Cheating at examinations has been controlled through strict action and proper attention by the chairperson BISEA. He told that the also the invigilatory staff and inspectors have been checked by the e-monitoring system which had made the Secondary School Certificate Annual Exams 2019 more transperent.
