Bridge collapse suspends traffic between Sindh and Balochistan

F.P. Report

KARACHI: A bridge constructed on RD 44 Shah Wah Canal in Thul collapsed with a big thud on Saturday.

However, no loss of life was reported during the incident.

The bridge connects Sindh with Balochistan province. After its collapse, the communication link between the two provinces has been snapped and villagers are facing difficulties in their commuting.

The bridge was weakened due to recent heavy rains.

It is feared if the water level in Shahi Canal does not decrease, there is likelihood that the regulator gate will also crash.

The residents of the area demanded of the authority to close the canal temporarily and restore the bridge so that the people could commute.
