PTI senator Abdul Qadir gets relief under new NAB law

ISLAMABAD: A member of the Upper House of the Parliament belonging to Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) also got relief under the new NAB laws as a corruption reference against him was sent back to the Bureau, on Saturday.

PTI’s Senator Abdul Qadir was an accused in Workers Welfare Board corruption reference. He was a co-accused in the case along with former secretary Workers Welfare Board Iftikhar Rahim.

The Accountability Court remarked that under the new law this reference did not fall under its jurisdiction.

After the promulgation of NAB (Amendment) Act, so far over 60 references have been returned to the Bureau.
