Check-posts cut from 35 to four in SW: IGFC

WANA: Inspector General of Frontier Corps (IGFC), Major General Abid Latif Saturday said that number of check-posts has been reduced from 35 to only four in South Waziristan (SW) and all the needed facilities would be ensured at these checking points. He stated this during a visit to South Waziristan.

He said that reduction in number of check posts is the result of peace that has been restored after the matchless sacrifices of security forces and Mehsud tribesmen. Abid Latif said that concerted efforts are underway to restore communication network in the area adding work on de-mining is in progress with the help of sixteen teams.

IGFC said that all the infrastructure facilities would be rehabilitated besides construction of hotels and restaurants in the area. He said that these facilities would bring positive change in lifestyles of area citizenry. He informed that work on Karama-Kaniguram is in full swing and construction of main and link road in Mehsud area would be started soon.
