CM appreciates KPOGCL for oil gas exploration

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak Tuesday appreciating achievements of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL) in exploration and exploitation of oil and gas assured continued flow of resources for meeting needs of the company.

He was presiding over a meeting held at Chief Minister House here. Secretary Finance, Shakeel Qadir, Secretary Minerals Muhammad Shah, Head of SSU Sahibzada Saeed, Chairman CM Complaints Cell Dilroze and others also attended the meeting. Chief Executive of the company enumerated the achievements of the company.

CM said that KPOGCL and other companies have to work as money generating entities enhancing their productive activities in the province adding provincial government would ensure needing assistance to those companies.

Pervez Khattak expressed satisfaction that KPOGCL in a short span of time achieved its targets in oil and gas sector as compared to other provinces.

It is an achievement that company discovered seven new wells and blocs besides making 18 blocs functional thus enhancing production of oil and gas in KP.

He directed to give Rs. 700 million and assured provision of an amount of Rs. 5 billion in current fiscal year when the company shows increase in its capacity for resource generation and money earning.

He said that government would never over burden provincial exchequer and favors giving autonomy to public sector entities in productive sectors.

Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over establishment of three oil refineries, a modern technical lab and a fertilizer plant in the province. He also assured to provide help for already identified 24 sites having the potential for gas.
