LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar here on Monday directed the concerned authorities to expedite the pace of work on development projects particularly in south Punjab and added that all the ongoing projects should be completed by the end of current fiscal year.
Presiding over a high-level meeting at his office CM Buzdar said, “In the new Pakistan, more work should be done instead of lip service and performance will have to be given for bringing change.”
According to a statement issued from his office, the chief minister said that mere presentations would not work and the standard of governance would improve when people would be facilitated practically.
The development schemes pertaining to the welfare of the common man should be timely completed, the chief minister said and added “Those who are responsible for the delay in public welfare schemes will have to be answerable and added that he will not tolerate any delay in welfare programs.”
CM Buzdar said that people would get relief due to the timely completion of schemes pertaining to healthcare, education, infrastructural development, repair and maintenance of roads and the provision of clean drinking water.
He said, “The government has ensured transparent utilization of development schemes and no compromise will be made on the quality and timeline of development projects.”
