FIA arrests Amir Muqam’s son over alleged corruption

PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has completed investigation into alleged irregularities in construction of Shangla-Alpuri road and arrested Ishtiaq, son of PML-N leader Amir Muqam.

According to details, the FIA arrested five persons including Ishtiaq and contractors. The FIA also recommended departmental action against 11 officials of the National Highway Authority. FIA also recommended to black list Amir Muqam and co.

The company was supposed to complete the of Shangla-Alpuri 35 Km road project within one year with a cost of Rs 850 million.However the project still awaits completion and the cost of project has reached Rs 2800 million.

FIA’s anti corruption wing completed the initial inquiry in 4 months and arrested 5 contractors including Ishtiaq.The FIA inquiry also suggested recovering Rs 626 from the company.
