F.P. Report

LANDI KOTAL: Councilors observed 15 March as “Black Day” against unavailability of power and funds here in Landi Kotal on Friday.

It is to be stated here that two years back on 15 March, the councilors took their oath after they were elected in Local Bodies election.

Led by Tehsil Chairman Haji Shah Khalid scores of Village and Neighborhood chairmen recorded their protest in Tehsil Municipal Authority office while carrying black flags and placards inscribed with slogans in their favor.

Speaking on the occasion Haji Shah Khalid said that two years back on that day, they had taken oath after their election in Local Bodies election.

But ironically power and funds had not been released to them that was injustice to them, he added.

Conducting LB election was the Constitutional binding however the then provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) made an amendment in Local Government Act to deliberately usurp rights of forty two thousands councilors, he remarked.

He demanded of the incumbent provincial government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to honor the will of the forty million people, forthwith withdraw the amendment in the 2013 Act and restore it in its original form.

He urged for the formulation of provincial financial commission and grant power and funds to the councilors.

Later on, a letter was written to the Chief Minister KP for restoration of funds and authorities to the councilors.
